Kingdom Camp is a vision where children (and their grown-ups if they want to come) come and learn all about the invisible attributes of our God, our Creator, through the visible parts of creation.
In observing and studying the intricacies of the seeds and plants, the minute and oft overlooked parts of a flower…the little hairs, the blending of colors, the soft petals, geometric leaves…we see the details and the beautiful varieties of plants God has created. In that, we can see a little of His heart…and it’s beautiful.
The kids will spend this last week in the garden and the kitchen as we use the fresh, local produce (or what we’ve grown here) to make some delicious goodies…homemade salsa! I’ll also teach the kids how to make homemade sourdough bread…the kids will all take a loaf home to let rise and put in the oven with their grown-ups. Then, they get to eat and enjoy “the labor of their hands.” How wonderful is that?
It will be a fun week bringing it all together…and all of it to lift their hearts up to God in thanksgiving. I hope that after these weeks, God will be more real to them, and that they know He is so present and cares about every little detail of their lives. It will be beautiful.
