Women Are Making Music (WAMM) is a group of people inspired to support women artists in the music scene. WAMM 518 showcase is an opportunity to enjoy music from emerging and established women artists from the Capital Region and beyond.
Tuesday, Nov. 4th will be our first event - which we hope will turn into a monthly 1st Tuesday series. We are offering a suggested donation of $10, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. This is about community and showing up to support live, local music!
WAMM is pleased to partner with Ophelia's On Broadway in Albany, NY to offer you this showcase. We invite you to join us and enjoy their hospitality and delicious menu featuring the famous Sliding Dirty sliders! We are grateful to Ophelia's for supporting this WAMM event!
NOV. 4th Performance Schedule!
Host Niki Kaos will kick of the night at 6:45 to warm up the room with a few original tunes! Certain to be a few from the vault rarely performed in public :)
7:00pm - Lauren Chiyoko Axford kicks things off with a solo set! You may remember her singing and kicking ass on harmonica with the WAMM Jam All-Stars on our Dead Flowers closer at WAMM Fest. Lauren's got a lot more where that came from with a down-home bluesy style that will welcome you and get your toes tappin'.
7:45pm - JJ's Okay is ready to enchant you with jaw dropping original compositions and a soaring and emotive voice. JJ's songs are expressive and introspective, and sure to capture your attention. Catch this rising star in a small venue while you can ;)
8:30pm - Deb Zep is no stranger to the local music scene performing her robust catalog of original music and covers across many of the favorite watering holes in the 518. What a voice! And one of the friendliest folks you'll meet out in the scene! She runs a great karaoke night too! Here's your chance to see her perform her favorite songs for you.
Niki Kaos will close out the night for you - and hey - ya never know what might happen if the party's rocking - maybe we won't stop! Come hang out with us and support women in music and the 518 music scene!
