Miscarriage & Stillbirth Memorial Service

Willamette Memorial Park Cemetery and Samaritan Albany General Hospital have partnered together for over 30 years to hold a memorial burial service for miscarried or stillborn babies.

The cemetery has set aside a circle of land for burial of babies who have died before birth, no matter how early in pregnancy. The park memorializes these babies with a year marker to identify the area where the ground was opened for burial of cremated remains and/or mementos. The baby’s name will be recorded in a memorial book that is kept at the park.

All families are welcome to participate in this memorial service, not just those who were patients of Samaritan Health Services. This inclusive event aims to offer solace and support to all grieving families in the community.
