Introduction to Vietnamese Cooking Do you love Vietnamese food, but intimidated by the idea of cooking it at home? This class is for you! Join Phat Chiem as he takes you through the basics of Vietnamese cuisine. You'll learn about stocking the Vietnamese pantry, how to make basic sauces and marinades, and how to prepare some easy but delicious Vietnamese dishes in your own kitchen. We'll be making these recipes:

• Nuoc cham (Vietnamese dipping sauce)
• Vietnamese pickles
• Bun (vermicelli noodle bowls, meat & meatless versions)
• Goi ga (crunchy Vietnamese salad)

You'll come out of this class knowing how to make a complete Vietnamese meal to wow your friends and family!

Meet your Teacher: Phat Chiem is a journalist and the publisher of The518.com, a weekly events newsletter for the Capital Region. He was born in Vietnam and emigrated to the United States as a young boy. He learned how to cook by watching his grandmother, and became obsessed with food and cooking.
