Please join us for a new series of programs focused on faith in action. On the third Wednesday of each month we’ll gather together for a potluck dinner followed by a conversation with a guest speaker. All are welcome–members of Westminster, friends, and neighbors.
About the potluck: We’ll share our meal with members of the English Language class offered on Wednesday evenings, taught by Westminster neighbor Kim Vaugeois. Please bring a dish that is ready to serve. We’ll provide drinks, serving utensils, plates, bowls, and silverware.
**September’s Topic: Faith in Action, 78 Miles to Batavia**
Our conversation starter this month is Rev. Dr. Leah Mason Ntuala, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls, NY. She writes:
“Public Theology is faith in action and word outside the walls of our congregations. This year, I felt God stirring me out of my mode of hypernormalisation and into the streets as an alternative definition to Christian Nationalism. With no training and minimal prep, I set out on a 78- mile walk along 5 and 20 from my home in Seneca Falls to the Immigration Detention Center in Batavia, a federally run ICE facility. It was a spiritual pilgrimage and a hope that it would inspire others’ faith and action.”
