Step into the world of the Impressionists with Carolyn as your guide. This engaging lecture explores the revolutionary techniques, tools, and ideas that shaped a movement. Discover how artists like Cézanne, Matisse, Mary Cassatt, and Berthe Morisot broke with tradition to capture light, color, and modern life in daring new ways. Perfect for artists and art lovers alike, this session blends art history with practical insight into the materials and methods of these groundbreaking painters. No supplies needed- just bring something if you wish to take notes. You will also be given an opportunity to shop in the store with Carolyn for books, tools, and materials inspired by the lecture.

Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes
