Join us for a powerful and moving evening of storytelling with two trailblazing voices in LGBTQ+ literature and advocacy.
Nico Lang, a celebrated transgender author and journalist, will read from their National best-selling book, American Teenager: How Trans Kids Are Surviving Hate and Finding Joy in a Turbulent Era. With honesty, vulnerability, and wit, Nico explores the complexities of growing up queer and trans in the modern America, weaving together personal narratives from trans and nonbinary youth that resonate across generations.
Jim Obergefell, LGBTQ+ civil rights activist and lead plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court marriage equality case Obergefell v. Hodges, will also share thoughts from his book, Love Wins: The Lovers and Lawyers Who Fought the Landmark Case for Marriage Equality. This deeply personal memoir recounts his fight for love and justice after the loss of his husband, offering a powerful reflection on grief, resilience, and the long journey toward equality.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from two extraordinary voices whose stories remind us of the power of visibility, memory, and community. Doors open at 6:00pm. Light refreshments will be available at no cost.
