The idea of Northern Tropical Thunder is to bring both Regional and City Leagues together to have as many short-track bouts as our schedule will allow. Both Junior and Senior bouts will be scheduled. Registration closes Friday the 29th of August 2025.
We have the venue all day on both Saturday and Sunday the 27th and 28th of September. Once we identify the number of leagues registered to participate we will create a schedule and release this to your league representative. This is a short track event however we do plan to hold a senior pot luck and Junior L2 full track games on Sunday 28/09/25 if skater numbers permit.
Short-track requires a minimum of 5 players and maximum of 7 players per team. We will also have potluck teams for those leagues unable to field the minimum amount of players.

There is no cost to register for this event! All costs this year are being covered by the funding Towns Villains Roller Derby has received from the dissolution of the Darwin City Roller Girls. Even though they are no longer a league they are still supporting regional derby, and we would like to thank them for their generous contribution. We hope you all do to! Gone, but not forgotten ❤️
Team lists are required by Friday 22nd of August. Each Team can submit a player roster of up to ten players and up to two Bench Managers. Bench Managers can be used as reserve players, but this is up to the Team’s discretion. Team lists are to be submitted via email to

𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫:
It will probably be a glorious 26-28 degrees, however this can get nasty while skating during the day, even at our venue. Hydration is key! Please ensure you bring water bottles. There is a cold water bubbler available in the venue.
