For close to a decade, Traverse City has been the launch site of Less Cancer’s Hike and Bike America— that connects communities nationwide. Less Cancer has stepped in, leading where traditional public health efforts have fallen short.
Now, Traverse City takes the lead once again. On Saturday, June 7, we kick off Hike and Bike America—that starts here and inspires action across the country.

This event not only promotes health and prevention but also supports transformative programming that directly impacts public health. Philanthropy is critical to sustaining this work—when unexpected challenges arise, it is these community-driven initiatives that provide stability, keep families healthy, and ensure public health efforts don’t fall through the cracks.
