Orchids of Ynyslas Sand Dunes Sunday 15th June at 10am 🌸
Following our popular ‘spring ephemerals’ event last year, we are treating ourselves to an outdoor session in peak flowering season! Reserve Warden Justin Lyons will lead a walk on the Ynyslas sand dunes, where over a dozen species of orchids occur, along with many other interesting plants.
Meet at the Visitor Centre at 10am. Please note, there is a £4 charge per car for car parking. High Tide is at 11:41am, so please park near the entrance end of the beach unless you car has the capacity to also be a boat.
Our walk leaders consider any hazards, so please listen to their health and safety advice. If you feel unwell, please do not come along. Be prepared for the weather, from waterproofs to sunblock.
Walks generally finish around lunchtime, but you may want to bring a snack and drink. 🌞🥾🥪
Identification guides and a hand lens are worth bringing if you have them. Children are welcome with a responsible adult at all times.
*This walk is FREE and open to members and non-members alike but please remember the car parking charge*
🚗 Directions: From the village of Ynyslas take the minor road directly north for 1.75km to the parking area on Borth Sands.
From the information board, follow the footpath through the dunes to the Visitor Centre SN610941 (what3words: ///privately.stupidly.natively).
