Two contrasting duos from North and Mid Wales.

BERESFORD/MARSH
Charlie Beresford (Guitar) and Peter Marsh (Bass) are members of Fourth Page, a band "who can successfully combine elements of folk with improv and make the results sound like a natural blend" (John Eyles). “Beresford has helped to pioneer a particularly distinctive, and very British, brand of free improvisation that draws inspiration from the landscape and from elements of folk music. The emphasis is on beauty and the creation of atmospheres and moods rather than the sound, fury and bluster of much freely improvised music. It’s an interesting and innovative niche that has drawn a considerable amount of critical acclaim……” (Ian Mann).

COOKE/HOPEWELL
David Hopewell is a musician and sound artist, living in Bethesda, North Wales, with interests in improvisation, environmental recordings, and live performance. Ash Cooke is an improvising guitarist and visual artist from North Wales. His work explores the connection between painting and music and the parallels between them in terms of technique and approach. Their debut album 'Adjacent Planes' was released last Sept.
