Few — oh! few! — are as fervently fossilized in tradition as the Mole!
They whisper in worm-tongue, write manifestos in mud,
sip existential tea in caverns of kaleidoscopic quiet!
Development? Yes!
Everything develops: shadows grow legs, worms grow cities,
and moles — they wait.
Wait like philosophers in velvet tuxedos.
Wait like spoons for the revolution of soup.
And from the overpopulated worm-fest of ancient sludge-shafts,
POP! — a clean hole appears!
A sanctified socket!
A void with ambition!
An old Byzantine mole once murmured (in a sock):
“You don’t have to see. The feeling is a neighbour.
The hole appears serious — even when smiling.”
Karaoke-digging — yes! With Byzantine backup singers!
Notes echoing through tunnels like philosophical pigeons.
The moles grow bold.
They wear monocles. They name their shovels!
And lo — Franz returns!
He brings marmalade, mystery, and tales from Byzantium that smell faintly of cinnamon and destiny.
Come! Listen with your elbows!
See with your kneecaps!
Let it happen, backwards, with great confusion and joy.
