Kurset går over 5 dagar og gir deg dei grunnleggande ferdigheitene for å kunne bli ein rafting guide.

Kurset følgjer standaren til International Rafting Federation (IRF) og er ein del av deira Guide Training & Education (GTE) program. Dette gjer at du me dette kurset, kan du få jobb heile verda som rafting guide!
Hovedfokus i kurset er praktisk læring, men det vil også vere viktige delar med teori undervegs. Du vil lære korleis elva oppfører seg, ulike faremoment og hindringar i elva, og raftingteknikk - korleis manøvrere raftingflåta trygt ned elva. Sikkerheit og fyrstehjelp, kommunikasjon på elva, arbeid i team og utstyr er også viktige moment.
Etter kurset mottar du eit "IRF Trainee" bevis. Dette gjer at du kan fortsette treninga di med ein tilbydar av rafting for å opparbeide deg den nødvendige erfaring og kompetansen for å bli ein sjølvstendig guide.
Kurshaldar er Alejandro Cuellar - Advanced Rescue 3 Instructor og IRF Raftguide/Safety Craft Instructor.
Vi i Uteguiden vil tilby 2 av deltakarane på kurset plass som treningsguide.

We at Uteguiden invite you to our Rafting Guide Course.
This course is meant for beginners and those who want an exciting job as a raft guide in the future!
During this 5-day course, you’ll get all the tools and skills to be assessed further on to become a rafting guide.
Date - 9th to 13th of June 2025
The course follows the standards of the International Rafting Federation (IRF) and is part of their Guide Training & Education Program (GTE). This means, once you get certified as a raft guide, you get excellent competence and higher chances to get a job all over the world as a rafting guide certified through the IRF!
The main focus of the course is practical learning, but there will also be important parts of theory along the way. You will learn how the river behaves, how to handle various hazards and obstacles in the river, and the rafting techniques on how to manoeuvre the raft safely through the rapids. Safety, first aid, communication on the river, teamwork and equipment are also important aspects that you will be taught.
After the course, we encourage you to start training with a rafting provider with the guidance of a certified guide/instructor. This means that you should have as many trips as possible as a second guide in the raft with a rafting provider to gain the necessary experience and competence to become a guide once you get approved from their Head Guide / Instructor of that company.
Our Instructor, Alejandro C. Giordano has been in multiple rivers around the globe since 1994 – Apart from being an IRF Raft-guide/Safety Craft Instructor, he is also an Advanced Rescue 3 Instructor.

No need to have previous experience, but helps if you have tried Rafting before
