If something important happened in America, there is probably a connection in Western Pennsylvania. In this presentation you will get a brief glimpse into the story behind many of the names associated with this area: Carnegie, Pitt, Westinghouse, Braddock, Forbes, Perry, Heinz, Salk, Mellon, and many more.
Steve Cicero was a history teacher in the Butler Area School District for 38 years, known for his museum-like classroom and collection of historically appropriate hats. After his retirement, he decided to put his knowledge of local history trivia, his passion for teaching, and his hat collection to creative use, starting The History Hobo. As The History Hobo, Steve gives presentations on local, regional, and national history, to groups of all ages, as well as planning bus tours throughout the tri-state area.
This is the History Hobo’s second appearance at the Library. To RSVP for this entertaining, educational and free program call the Library at 724-452-9330 or email
