If We Listen, Do Microbes Sing Our Stories” is an audio-installative performance by Nora Hauswirth, Maya Minder and Kaspar Koenig that combines soil and narrative in an immersive sound installation in the Zurich Botanical Garden. The performance invites visitors to experience and exchange the presence of microbes, to touch the earth and to discover the role of microorganisms as actors of a metabolism in soil ecology through sound and narration. It raises awareness of the fragility of tropical biodiverse habitats and the loss of biodiversity by focusing on the importance of microbes for plant growth and human well-being.
