Blessing of the Animals

Join us for a Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 11th at 10 AM in the parking lot. Bring your pet, a picture of your pet, or memories of your pets that have left this earth. We will have a brief time of prayer to express gratitude to God for our beloved pets that are with us now and for those that have blessed our families in previous years. The Blessing of the Animals is grounded on our Christian tradition in remembrance Francis of Assisi. Francis is the patron of the environment and animals because he loved all creatures and allegedly preached to even the birds. Comforting a young boy who'd recently lost his dog, Francis said this: “One day, we will see our animals again in the eternity of Christ. Paradise is open to all of God's creatures.” We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 11th!
