Light Up the Night 2026

Light Up the Night is a free event hosted by the University of York for staff, students, and members of the public wishing to stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence.

Join us at Greg’s Place, where battery-powered candles will be available, before we walk a gentle, accessible, pre-mapped route around campus, ending in Central Hall foyer by 6pm, where hot drinks will be served, and where there will be an opportunity to learn more about the support provided by the University and local services. This space will be open until 7pm.

The event is free to attend, but please book a place, as spaces are limited. Children are very welcome to attend with their accompanying adult.
