In this full day workshop, embroidery tutor Stephanie Palmer will inspire you with her own Encrusted Garden design.
She will use it to teach you a range of different surface embroidery stitches.These might include stem stitch, split stitch, fly stitch, French knots, bullion knots lazy daisy stitch, delicate beads and is finished with a flower and/or insect motif. If a student has already mastered these, Stephanie will introduce you to additional stitches to extend your repertoire.
You will be given designs of foliage and flowers for you to transfer onto your fabric, creating your own embroidery piece if you prefer.
There will also be a few pieces of fabric in each kit, so you have a choice. Any fabrics and threads that are not used on the day may be taken home so you can make an additional design if you wish.
Additional, beads, threads and motifs than already provided in your kit will also be available for you to choose from.
All materials for this workshop are included.
Level: Beginner to Experienced*
*While no previous experience is required, if you already have mastered embroidery stitches, Stephanie will help you to extend your repertoire, adding instruction in a range of additional unusual and interesting stitches.
