Goldwings needed to lead Jen's last ride escort.
MEET from from 13:30 at The Co-op funeral directors is at 8-11 Bond Street, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 1PE. (Bikes meet in the small carpark on the right, in Peter Street car park.)
You can see the funeral directors place from there, so you will easily see when the hearse leaves.
The hearse will leave between 13:50 - 14:00, no later.
They know that there will hopefully be bikers waiting there, so they will be expecting you to join in behind the hearse & limos.
The ride is then to the crematorium.
The service starts at 14:40 and will be about 20-25 mins long.
Goldwings to lead the bike escort, all other bikes to follow behind please.
All bikes & trikes will be welcome to join us if they wish to.
We are hoping to find a pub to go back to afterwards, which I'll let you know the details about later.
If any riders want to go back to the pub, I'd like to thank everyone there personally.
If you can get some bikers to help pull this one off, I will be eternally grateful, and I'm sure Jen will be looking down on us with a big cheesy grin on her face.
It might not be the rally funeral she would have liked, but it will be quite some replacement.
It will be so appreciated.
We got married on our Wing in 1992, and the start of our honeymoon was to the Smock and Clog Rally in Somerset.
We kept our Wing until 2000, when Jen's health took a down turn.
Thankfully she recovered and our thoughts turned back to bikes.
Happily, we were reunited with our Wing for our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
The picture shows Jen celebrating her return. Unfortunately, the Wing is off the road at the moment so I won't be able to ride her in the escort, but I'm sure I can find a vacant pillion to join the celebration, if anyone has a spare seat on a bike or trike?
