‘The Sound of Musicals’ One Night Only Performance

Can you tell me a little more about the show?
· Celebrating 75 years, Crowthorne Musical Players' one night only concert this year is a musical extravaganza - The Sound of Musicals.
· A showcase of all our ‘favourite things’ and featuring many popular and widely recognisable numbers from your favourite musicals, including Mamma Mia, Wicked, Anything Goes and The Sound of Music to name but a few.
· Most of the songs in the concert will be well known and recognisable whilst there will be a few that may not be quite as well known.
· The show is not a "timeline" of 75 years but is intended to highlight several key themes of musical theatre through that period.
Is there an opportunity for me?
· The show will include opportunities for solos, duets, small group and full company numbers; open to adult and junior members aged 9 and over.
· Whether you're a regular CMP member, someone who has done a few shows with us before, this is your first time on stage in a while or first time with Crowthorne Musical Players, we will welcome you to our society and our show.
· If you wish to be considered for any songs beyond the full company numbers, you will need to audition.
How will you be casting this show?
· For this show, we will be holding open auditions which you can find out about at the launch night.
· The main audition date will be Sunday 27th July 1:30pm - 4:30pm but if you can't make this date, there will be an opportunity to audition before this.
When and where do you rehearse?
· Mondays and Thursdays 7:30pm - 9:30pm and extended to 10:30pm in September
· Sundays 1:30pm - 5:30pm from 31st August. No Sundays except for auditions prior to this date.
· Rehearsals take place in and around Crowthorne, exact venues for auditions and rehearsals will be shared at the launch night.

· Jamie Milburn - Director
· Abi Burrows - Co-Musical Director
· Sarah-Beth Lockwood - Co-Musical Director
There's no choreographer listed above. Will there be any dancing?
· There will be a small amount of full company and smaller group dance numbers. All cast will be expected to learn the full company dance numbers.
· We currently don't have an assigned choreographer for this show. If you are interested in devising and teaching some of the dances in this concert, please reach out to the Director ahead of the launch night.
