Heritage Open Day at Horsey Windpump

Enjoy free admission to the windpump, activities for children, and staff in period costume as we celebrate Heritage Open Day.

Step back in time with us as we celebrate Heritage Open Day, when you’ll be welcomed to Horsey Windpump by staff in period costumes from 1912. The significance of the year is that this was when the present structure was built by Ludham millwright Dan England.

Explore the history of the drainage mills at Horsey, dating back to 1816, how the windpump worked, and what it was like to be a millman. The café will also have a vintage feel, with table decorations and crockery to tie in with the celebration.

Free admission to the windpump on this date. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day. Normal car parking fees apply.
