originalprojects; has invited Maud van den Beuken to visit Great Yarmouth to spend some time researching and exploring.
Whilst she's here, Maud will be giving a public talk to share what forms her work takes and how she creates it. She will also be sharing some of her research process through a research walk on Tuesday 25 November from 10-12am, which anyone is invited to.
This event is part of OTHERWISE... [Intensive] - a week of free activity piloting a Great Yarmouth Exploded Art School which would view the entire town as a place of potential work and learning, with everyone being a potential student and tutor.
To view the full list of activity (which includes walks, talks, screenings, workshops, communal eating, table-tennis, a birthday party and more) follow the link below or have a look on our Facebook page:

About Maud van den Beuken...
Maud van den Beuken is an artist based in Rotterdam. While zooming in on the porous spaces in-between, she works closely with scientists, engineers and policy-makers in the fields of physics, water management and cartography. For the past eight years, she has been specifically engaging with rivers, such as the Kaveri, the Mississippi, the Elbe, the Rhine and the Meuse.
Besides the formal context of the arts, her work often manifests itself in public spaces, mapping archives, scientific conferences and universities, through interventions, sculptures, installations, maps, (audio)walks and videos.
As part of YARMONICS 2025, originalprojects; and Eastern Ear presented Maud's film 'We Carry the River' which presents a documentation of a performance responding to the continual dredging of the Nieuwe Maas river, as an essential activity to keep it flowing and open for traffic.
Maud completed a residency at the Jan van Eyck postgraduate institute in Maastricht (NL) in 2023. Her work has been exhibited internationally at TENT, Rotterdam (NL), United Nations Water Conference 2023 in New York (US), EIGHT/ΤΟ ΟΧΤΩ in Athens (GR), EENWERK Gallery (NL), EKKM in Tallinn (EE), IJsselbiennale (NL) and the Special Collections Department of the Utrecht University Library (NL).
