Exhibit theme and eligibility
Theme: Community photo themes can include exploring our area’s culture and people through events and portraiture, capturing its nature and wildlife, focusing on everyday details like textures, patterns, and reflections, or showcasing local and urban elements in rural or city environments. You can also photograph the process of local crafts, agriculture, or professional work, or find inspiration in local street art and seasonal changes. *Local can refer to any scenes or space in the state of NC*
Participant criteria:
Residency: This exhibit is open to artists 18 years of age who reside in or near the Piedmont Region of North Carolina. This exhibit is open to all people 18 years of age or older who reside in or near the Piedmont Region of North Carolina.
Delivery of Photos: All accepted submissions must be delivered in person to the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center in Yadkinville on December 29, or December 30, 2025. If you are unable to deliver on one of these dates, other arrangements may be made in advance if possible.
Submission limit: To give everyone a chance we are limiting submissions to one photograph per artist.
Image content
Originality: All photographs must be the original work of the entrant to prevent copyright infringement.
Ethical photography: When photographing identifiable people, especially children, you must obtain their consent, and for children, their guardian’s consent.
Content restrictions: This is a family friendly exhibit, please refrain from submitting photos with adult content or subject matter that is not appropriate for viewing by all ages. Also, please do not submit photos with political subject matter or photos that exploit, stereotype, or misrepresent subjects or cultures. Images should be respectful and sensitive.
Photo manipulation and limits on digital alteration: Our guidelines allow for minor adjustments like cropping, but prohibit major manipulation that changes the photographic truth of the image. No AI photos will be accepted.

All Submissions must include: Artist Name, Title, Dimensions, Location, Price, and a JPG or PNG file of the photo being submitted.
Artwork presentation
All accepted submissions must be properly framed or have nicely finished edges (photos printed on gallery wrapped canvas or metal are acceptable
Photos should be properly wired for hanging.
Each piece of art received should have a label attached on back reiterating name, title, media, and price including 25% commission.
Accepted Photos cannot have shown on either Red Wall or Welborn Gallery shows in the past.
Photos should be removed from all packing materials when delivered. Please take all packing materials with you, as we do not have room to store.
Pieces should not be removed from show until end date except in special circumstances
Rights and promotions
Usage rights: The Yadkin Arts Council reserves the right to to use the submitted photos of accepted art for promotional purposes on their website, marketing materials, in newsletters, on social media, and in press releases.
Sales Commissions: Yadkin Arts Council will oversee the processing of all sales. Artist will retain 75% of sales price.
Insurance: The Yadkin Arts Council insures all work while on its premises. YAC is not responsible for damage due to improper packing or use of faulty construction.
Refusal: We reserve the right to refuse any submissions that are deemed inappropriate for this exhibition.
Return of Art: All unsold artwork must be picked up on March 2, 2026. If you are unable to pick up your art on that day other arrangements must be made with the Yadkin Arts Council in advance.
