Swallow the Rat (NZ) to postpunkowe trio z Auckland w Nowej Zelandii, znane z intensywnych gitar, chłodnej atmosfery i wyrazistej rytmiki. Ich brzmienie balansuje między surową energią a przestrzenną psychodelią, przywodząc na myśl takie zespoły jak Sonic Youth, Protomartyr czy Gang of Four.
Zespół ma na koncie trasy po USA, Australii i Nowej Zelandii oraz występy na renomowanych festiwalach – SXSW (2019, 2024) i New Colossus w Nowym Jorku. Współdzielili scenę m.in. z Arab Strap, No Age, Sebadoh czy Quicksand.

Wydany w 2023 roku album South Locust trafił na 7. miejsce nowozelandzkich list sprzedaży i zyskał uznanie w alternatywnych mediach. Za jego produkcję odpowiadali m.in. Nick Abbott (Foals) i Sonny Diperri (DIIV, Protomartyr).

Swallow the Rat (NZ) is a post-punk trio from Auckland, New Zealand, known for intense guitars, a cool atmosphere, and distinctive rhythms. Their sound balances raw energy with spacious psychedelia, evoking bands like Sonic Youth, Protomartyr, and Gang of Four.
The band has toured the USA, Australia, and New Zealand, and performed at renowned festivals such as SXSW (2019, 2024) and New Colossus in New York. They have shared the stage with acts including Arab Strap, No Age, Sebadoh, and Quicksand.

Their 2023 album South Locust reached number 7 on the New Zealand charts and received acclaim in alternative media. Production was handled by, among others, Nick Abbott (Foals) and Sonny Diperri (DIIV, Protomartyr).
