Join us at Stret Lock on the serene and beautiful Chesterfield Canal for our winter open day! Take a look at the newly installed lock gates and hear from the experts about how Canal & River Trust maintain over 2,000 miles of waterways and the work we deliver to ensure our waterways stay open and alive.

You can also find out more about volunteering opportunities and discover the vital work our heritage team perform to ensure that for generations to come, people will always be able to marvel at our soaring aqueducts, steep lock flights and charming humpback bridges.


After visiting our winter open day why not pop into the Lock keeper for a drink and something to eat?

Well behaved dogs, under control & on leads are welcome.
