SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY: Adrian Fern.

As an accomplished Information Technology professional with many years of experience gained in multiple cross-sector environments, Adrian has successfully undertaken numerous technical designs and deliveries that have disrupted and transformed business models and realised huge benefits. He has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to deliver successful outcomes by resolving highly complex and confusing challenges, at pace, across a wide range of sectors.

Adrian’s experience includes diverse roles ranging from collection, processing, and visualisation of oceanographic data, including high resolution subsea topographical mapping, for scientific research cruises, serving onboard the UK Oceanographic Research Fleet. “On the beach”, he has built some of the largest and most secure data solutions in Europe and, whilst working as a consultant, has de-risked, simplified, and assured many clients' technology transformations.

As a member of BCS The Chartered Institute for IT, Adrian acts as a mentor to colleagues in several organisations. He is naturally comfortable working with all levels, managing key stakeholder relationships throughout. He has helped to arrange and facilitate research tours in Silicon Valley and across Europe, gaining insightful knowledge and understanding of the technological landscape.

Adrian’s mission is to ensure the effectiveness, resilience, and performance of current and future solutions through detailed technical knowledge of application architectures and technical infrastructure. He works to encourage rigour and vendor agnosticism in design; inspire architecture & design best practices; champion the creation of reusable patterns, components, artefacts, and assets; and works to instil a sense of pride and satisfaction in doing things right.

Our events are for adults aged 16 years and over, children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
