Peter Sutton and Liana Hayrapetyan worked together to create ‘Poems of Armenia’. Their collaboration includes a brief introduction to the history and culture of Armenia, surrounded as it is by Iran, Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan, and the challenges facing the country amid present-day conflicts.
‘This expansive collection is a rich read… a deep attachment to and love of Armenian culture, and of lives lived in “the double-edged night”.’ Jean Atkin
‘…these two poets pass this precious parcel of pain and pleasure, the sweet and bitter, one to the other… like a conversation between two old friends…’ Karen Babayan
