After the Walk we will settle into our seats to listen to our Brilliant guest speaker, Richard Stemp.
Richard, Former Worcestershire and England A Cricketer known for his brilliant left arm spin bowling, was a fantastic bowler who also played Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire across a career of 12 years from 1990 – 2002.
Stemp played for Worcestershire between 1990 – 1992. The rest of his career was shared across Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Stemps career in list A and First class cricket was impressive, taking 546 wickets in 319 games. He then went onto play for England A in tours to India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Taking two 5-wicket hauls, 6-83 and 5-64. Stemp also received a call up to the England squad in 1994 to New Zealand but unfortunately didn’t make the 11.
Richards career of 12 years was very impressive, but as we know cricket experiences lots of highs and lows, and are not all straight forward. Richard will talk us through his very interesting life into and after cricket.
