Edgar Allan Poe’s 'The Fall of the House of Usher'

Summoned by a childhood friend, a visitor arrives at the crumbling House of Usher. There he discovers the pallid and sickly Roderick Usher, the last of his family line, consumed by fear and afflicted by a mysterious illness that seems to eerily mirror his dark, dank and decaying surroundings...

Published in 1839, Poe’s claustrophobic tale was an instant sensation. A richly layered and atmospheric Gothic masterpiece featuring a supremely creepy house, the increasingly tense story explores themes of friendship and family, as well as madness, isolation, despair and ultimately death.

Tickets can be booked online or from Greyfriars visitor reception at no.14 Friar Street. £15.00 per person.

31st October at 18.00 & 20.00 (doors open 30 minutes before each show).

The performance will be held upstairs in the library, access is via a steep staircase.
