Are you an artist looking for funding to support an upcoming project? Unlike loans and those tempting rewards credit card, grants are an option that don’t require you to pay them back. Money for creating? Let’s go!!
But - how do you get started? What opportunities even exist these days? Aren’t grants for, like, really good artists and I’m not at that level and am I even an artist at all??? If any of these questions feel familiar, you’re not alone - in fact you’re part of the reason EASEL exists!
The barrier to entry with grant programs is real, and a little friendly guidance can make all the difference. In this 1-hour crash course, EASEL founder Nikki Erskine will share insights from her 4+ years as the admin for the Worcester Arts Council (WAC) to help you get familiar with the process, requirements, and planning, wrapped up with a Q&A.
WAC grant applications will be the focus as applications are due October 16, but much of what we’ll cover will be applicable to other grant programs (including other LCCs) and artistic opportunities.
Doors at 5, to respect everyone's time please plan to arrive by 5:15 so we can begin at 5:30 and wrap up by 6:30.
