Andrew D. Huber is a seasoned songwriter and performer who is very comfortable following his own voice in the crowded contemporary music landscape. With a unique blend of Celtic, Americana, folk, and rock music, Huber’s sound is best described as “acoustic folk-rock with a Celtic twist”, a banner that he has been playing under for over two-decades.
Having cut his teeth on the stages of Chicago and Minneapolis as frontman for guitar-pop outfit the Gecko Club, Huber was already a confident performer when he shifted his attention toward his solo work. Two decades, 7 solo albums, and a string of EPs and singles later, Huber remains a true devotee to his craft, consistently playing about 75 shows a year “up and down the Great Lakes” and across the midwest year upon year with an unending amount of enthusiasm.
His latest release, 2025’s “Sailor’s Rescue” is a stalwart representation of Huber’s songwriting prowess — the melodies, lyrics, and stories soar and swell in a manner that is simply captivating. While previous outings such as “Mockingbird Gallows” and “Chasing Time” have garnered significant praise from international press, citing him as “the real deal when it comes to folk-rock” and as being “lyrically amongst the superior”, the songs on “Sailor’s Rescue” have raised the bar even higher.
Widely regarded as an engaging, spirited performer, Huber has shared the stage with luminaries such as Celtic folk giants the High Kings and others. His concert repertoire is packed with meaningful, memorable original songs, Celtic pub-rock favorites, and melodies that keep audiences humming for days.
