Read Across America Day

Woodridge School District 68 invites you to participate in our annual Read Across America Day on Thursday, February 26, 2026! We are inviting community members to participate by volunteering to read a book to students. Our goal is to have at least one guest reader visit each elementary classroom.

Choose the school by clicking on the tab (computer) or drop-down (mobile) at the top and then choose your time slot. Each volunteer can sign up for up to 3 slots per school. We will attempt to honor any classroom requests but they are NOT guaranteed. Sign-up will close on Thursday, February 19, to allow for classroom assignment and scheduling.

Another way to support reading in the classroom is to donate a book to the classroom when you visit. This is an optional contribution – schools and classrooms will have books available to read.
