This interactive workshop explores the
intentional selection of sand tray therapy
miniatures, focusing on clinical utility rather
than sheer quantity. Participants will learn
essential categories, cultural
considerations, and strategies for curating a
meaningful and diverse set. Through
theoretical review, discussion and hands-on
exercises, attendees will refine their
miniature selection to enhance therapeutic
depth and client engagement. Additionally,
each participant will create their own resin
river or pond to take home, adding a
personal and symbolic element to their
sand tray collection.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify essential categories of sand
tray therapy miniatures and understand
their symbolic significance in the
therapeutic process.
2. Develop strategies for curating a
diverse yet intentional selection of
miniatures that meet the cultural,
developmental, and clinical needs of
clients.
3. Apply practical guidelines for
maintaining, organizing, and adapting a
sand tray miniature collection based on
client needs and therapeutic goals.
4. Create a personalized resin river of
pond to enhance a sand tray collection
and deepen their understanding of the
role of symbolic representation in
