Blue Mountains Monthly Backgammon Tournament

The very first Blue Mountains Monthly Backgammon Tournament will be held on February 22nd, 2026 at the legendary Hazo Bowlo.

This is a social backgammon event, with no entry fees and no cash prizes. The winner will have the honour of having their photo taken with the (yet to be determined, but no doubt spectacular) BMMBT trophy.

The format is 5 point matches with the doubling cube (and the Crawford rule) single elimination. Beginners, world champions and all those in between are welcome to play. If you've never played before, come along for a free lesson and get ready to compete next time - the event will run on the last Sunday of every month.

Eliminated players are encouraged (but not required) to hang around, play some friendly games, perhaps a chouette, enjoy a bite to eat and who knows, maybe a little barefoot bowls.
