Get Down & Give Back: A Golden Back-to-School Celebration

Step into the groove and celebrate both a brand-new school year and Deptford Mall’s 50th Anniversary with a funky 70’s-inspired afternoon of style, music, and community spirit.

This family-friendly celebration will feature:
- Back-to-school fashion spotlights with the latest trends
- Retro dance performances that will get you moving
- A collaborative art project celebrating five decades of shopping, style, and connection
- Fun contests and live music with a nostalgic twist
Earn your A+ in Fun while making a difference! We’re teaming up with BookSmiles, a local nonprofit providing books to kids in need—so bring a book to donate and share the joy of reading.
Class is officially in session—Deptford Mall style! Take part in:
- Fashion Studies 101: See what’s hot for the school year ahead
- Dance 101: Learn and enjoy live performances
- PE Class: Join in interactive dances like the Electric Slide and YMCA

This event proudly supports BookSmiles, a long-standing partner of Deptford Mall that makes a powerful impact by providing books to children in need. In the spirit of giving back, guests are invited to be part of a meaningful community project that celebrates both creativity and compassion.
With just a $5 donation, guests will receive a groovy 70's-themed grab bag—a fun surprise filled with sweet treats, prizes, gift cards, and more! But that’s not all.
With your donation, you can also paint a tile to be included in our vibrant community mural—a colorful symbol of unity, imagination, and generosity. Your contribution will not only support childhood literacy, but leave a lasting mark on a mural that celebrates the heart of our community.
