Baycrest and the Fraser Coast Waste Team are excited to announce a collaborative pop-up shop, dedicated to reducing waste and building community spirit! We're offering a wide range of pre-loved items, all absolutely free, that have been carefully collected to prevent them from ending up in landfill. Come along, browse our selection, and take home anything you need—no strings attached! Enjoy a complimentary cuppa while you're here, and connect with your neighbours for a friendly chat. Every item that finds a new home is a victory for our environment, keeping it out of the waste stream.
The statistics are staggering: Australians send an estimated 800,000 tonnes of textiles to landfill each year, many of which are still in excellent condition and have plenty of life left. This pop-up is our way of tackling this issue head-on, giving these textiles a second chance and promoting a more sustainable way of living.
