Decorative summer bug Lino print workshop

Come and learn how to make a Lino cut print and get absorbed in this fun and satisfying craft. In this relaxed and friendly workshop, we will be learning the basic principles of Lino cutting, exploring the materials, equipment and terminology used, and experimenting with carving Lino to create different kinds of effects. Then you will apply your new-found knowledge, to design and create a decorative summer insect Lino print. Maybe you will create a bee, or a dragonfly, a butterfly or a beetle? We will also experiment in this workshop with hand colouring our completed prints to add extra colour and interest. You are welcome to bring photographs, drawings or books to use as inspiration. Some ideas will be circulated to you prior to the event as well.
You will take home your carved Lino and all of your prints, ready to frame and hang, turn into greetings cards, or give as gifts.

The cost of this 4 hour workshop is £50 and includes everything you need to create your prints, and light refreshments. Places are limited to 8 to ensure everyone receives the 1:1 tuition they need to create their very best work! You will be taught by Sue, a printmaker and tutor with almost 20 years of experience. Pre-booking is essential.

There is a free car park directly adjacent to the venue. If travelling by public transport, the no 1 bus from the city centre stops nearby and runs approximately every 10 minutes.
