Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) Training

We are based in the centre of Wokingham, Berkshire. Easily assessble for bus, train or car. Our training room is on the 2nd floor of the building, with no access to a lift.

I wish that the stigma about mental ill health was long gone – but sadly it isn’t. I don’t know about you, but I need support from time to time.

I believe that Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®) are crucial in supporting their colleagues – but they need support, too. This is why the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course is the best yet. I am proud to be training MHFAiders® that are supported long after their training is completed, with 24/7 access to resources through MHFA England’s digital app.

Course outline

As an MHFAider® you will be able to:

- Recognise those that may be experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first-level support and early intervention

- Encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other supports

- Practise active listening and empathy

- Have a conversation with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma

- Discuss the MHFAider® role, including boundaries and confidentiality

- Practise self-care

- Know how to use the MHFAider Support App®

-Know how to access a dedicated text service provided by Shout and ongoing learning opportunities with MHFA England

Cost £250 + VAT = £300 per person

Please be aware that the training room is on the 2nd floor of the building with no lift
