We're excited to be partnering with Meridian Energy and Ernslaw One Forests for WAR#3 , which will take place on the White Hill Wind Farm, SE of Mossburn. Its land being used to both generate clean wind energy AND sequester carbon via a forestry block...and, it's going to be awesome for orienteering!
You don't want to miss this final event in our Winter Rogaine Series--a whopping 25 glorious CPs under the shadow of giant Wind generators and through the darkness of a forestry block (you might need a headlamp for some CPs!). As usual, maps from 9:30 am, course opens 10 am, closes 4 pm.
Get as many or as few as you want! Some hard ones, some easy ones. We will use a combination of topo and satellite-based maps, so great all-around navigation practice. A bit more elevation on this one, so bring your strong legs. Good road access on the way up though. Heaps of trails but some subtle features too.
Pre-registration essential, as participants will be emailed parking instructions, etc prior to the event. $30 for solos, $25 pp for teams (1 map for every 2). Extra maps $10. Full FEAR members participate for free and only pay for a map.
Note: Youth 10 and under can participate for free with a paying adult member, but you'll need to pay for any extra maps as usual.
There will be a sausage sizzle at the end of the event as a fundraiser for Mossburn area schools, so go hard, and finish hungry!
