The Town of Winthrop is launching a new series of community forums to give residents the chance to talk directly with Town leadership about important local issues.
We've named the series "Let's talk, Winthrop." These will be informal, conversational gatherings where you can ask questions, share ideas, and learn more about topics such as the Town budget, police consolidation, roads, downtown revitalization, code enforcement, elections, trails, the Charter Commission, the Comprehensive Plan, and more.
Forums will be held at different times of day -- early mornings, lunch hours, and evenings -- and at a variety of locations, including Town facilities and local gathering spots. Our goal is to make it convenient for everyone to participate.
The first forum will be from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Bailey Public Library, 39 Bowdoin St. There will be no singular topic -- Town Manager Anthony Wilson will touch on current initiatives, will answer questions and will listen to citizens' thoughts. Since we'll be in the library, Library Director Richard Fortin will also be available to talk and answer questions about library services. Light refreshments will be served. Attendees may also bring brown bag lunches.
We look forward to seeing you and hearing your thoughts on how we can continue to make Winthrop a great place to live, work, and visit.
