COMET Training - U of M Extension Service

Have you wondered if there was a way to reach out to a neighbor who is having a rough time? Or how to approach a family member with a mental health concern? This training is for regular folks who want to feel more comfortable caring in their community. If you are a lay leader in your church, member of a service organization, parent or have older parents, this afternoon will give you some skills and confidence with mental health conversations.

COMET Training stands for Changing Our Mental & Emotional Trajectory. COMET Training is a two-hour interactive community training that teaches participants how to reach out in a supportive way to others who seem to be struggling somewhere between wellness and a mental health crisis.

Presented by the University of Minnesota Extension Service, with the MN Department of Agriculture and Health, this training is designed for use in rural and farming communities. This training is hosted by the Winthrop Library.
