AUDITION DETAILS
Auditions: Monday, December 8 from 6:00-8:00 pm
Callbacks (if needed/by invitation): Wednesday, December 10 from 6:00-8:00 pm
at The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem's new location, 4015 Brownsboro Rd.
Roles are available for 2 women (ages 25-55) and 3 men (ages 25-55).
Please read the character descriptions and performance schedule below. Auditions will consist of reading from sides. Please bring your calendar and be prepared to list all potential conflicts for the rehearsal and performance period.
Rehearsals will generally be held Monday-Friday evenings from 7-10 pm. This is subject to change depending on the cast’s availability and the creative team’s discretion.

SHOW DESCRIPTION
This heartfelt story follows a team of formerly incarcerated individuals working at a truck stop as they find purpose in creating the perfect sandwich and rebuilding their lives. The play premiered on Broadway in November 2021 and is a dramedy that explores themes of hope, aspiration, and the power of food to heal.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
Clyde: (Female; African American/Black; aged 40-55) A harsh and powerful truck stop owner who struggles to control her formerly incarcerated staff.
Montrellous: (Male; African American/Black; aged 40-55) An enigmatic and mindful chef who inspires the kitchen staff with his wisdom and belief in the possibility of a perfect sandwich.
Letitia: (Female; African American/Black; aged 25-35) A formerly incarcerated woman trying to build a better life.
Rafael: (Male; Hispanic/Latino; aged 25-35) A formerly incarcerated, romantic cook who is deeply in love with Letitia.
Jason: (Male; White; aged 25-35) A new employee at Clyde’s, he is defensive and antagonistic. Recently released from prison, he’s covered in tattoos that reveal a troubled past. *anyone auditioning for this role must be willing to discuss altering their appearance
