Join us for a Community Watershed Event to learn about our sacred waterways and share your voice on the future of our watershed. The event will include cultural education, family-friendly activities, and a youth coloring contest, along with a light meal for attendees.
This event is designed to empower our community to share ideas, learn about water protection, and help shape future watershed projects while celebrating our cultural connections to water.
We are encouraging our Native youth to participate in our Native youth coloring contest. Participants must be 5-17 years old. Participants will be using recycled crayons and markers as a way to demonstrate reusing products that are traditionally thrown away. A winner will be judged, selected, and given a prize.
This is a collaborative effort of the Winnebago Tribe's Environmental Protection Department, Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment, Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District, and Red Sky Nation. If you are wanting to contribute or become a sponsor for this event, please reach out to Aseanna Overfelt at (402) 878-4060 ext. 2002 or email at
