The Mojave is no longer the center of the war. That battle is over.
New Vegas stands independent — a wild card that shattered the grand ambitions of both the NCR and Caesar’s Legion. With the Legion splintered into petty warbands and the NCR nursing wounds too deep to hide, a new frontier has opened to the north.
The town of Veyo clings to survival. Nestled in a valley, Veyo guards the only known source of clean, fresh water for miles. That water — and the defiant settlers who protect it — has made the town both a beacon of independence and a target.
Once courted by the New California Republic as a strategic partner, Veyo’s refusal to join the Republic — and a bloody border skirmish with NCR troops two years back — turned any hope of alliance to ash. Now, the NCR views Veyo as a rebellious outpost better left to rot… or exploited from afar.
The Legion is no longer a threat. The NCR has turned its eyes elsewhere.
But a new power has stepped into the void.
The New Reno Crime Families
From the ruins of the old world’s sin capital, the New Reno Families — the High rollers , and their affiliates — have crept into the Mojave and beyond. Smugglers,raiders, mercenaries, and syndicate enforcers now dominate key trade routes and regional outposts. Their influence spreads like radiation — quiet, corrupting, and almost impossible to cleanse.
Veyo, having resisted the Families’ offers of “protection,” now suffers the consequences.
Caravans disappear or divert before reaching the town.
Supplies are bled away through bribes, ambushes, or intimidation.
Rumors swirl of spies and collaborators inside Veyo itself.
And then the winter came.
A freak cold snap — possibly the worst in decades — devastated local crops and scavenging routes. Hunger and distrust now walk hand-in-hand. With each passing day, the people of Veyo face the same question:
Will we survive this? Or will we burn everything to thrive?
