For one special evening in December, join us for an important fund
raiser to benefit the Increase Clapp House. Support your
generous neighbors along Main Street as they welcome visitors
into their homes, celebrate the season with music at the First
Congregational Church, and enjoy refreshments and a teacup
auction at the Masonic Lodge.

History of the Increase Clapp House:
For more than 200 years, this lovely brick Federal was home to generations of Clapps and
Schweirs who lived and worked there from 1808 to 2016. Donated to the town, the house was
given to the nonprofit Clapp House Preservation, Inc. Its six-member Board (all South Windsor
residents) was formed in 2022 with a mission to
*Restore the exterior of the house while preserving its historic significance and charm
*Renovate the interior of the house to ensure its compliance with building codes and
ADA standards
*Ensure the house continues to be cared for, preserved and used for years to come
*Establish a high-profile presence for the South Windsor American Legion Post 133
