This welcoming workshop offers a slow and thoughtful introduction to crochet. Starting with chain stitch, double crochet and treble crochet. You’ll learn how to hold your yarn and hook comfortably, master the basic stitches like chain, double and treble crochet, and discover how the repetitive motion of stitching can bring calm, focus, and joy.
Whether you’ve never picked up a hook or want to reconnect with a creative hobby, this session is designed to support and inspire you. You’ll leave with a small piece of your own work, helpful guidance for practising at home, and a renewed appreciation for slowing down.
All materials are provided. No experience needed — just bring curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
In addition there will be several sessions as part of this series:
21st October: Mindful Crochet 1: First Stitches
28th October: Mindful Crochet 2: Meditation Squares
4th November: Mindful Crochet 3: Textures and Patterns
11th November: Mindful Crochet 4: Bringing it Together
Please note that there is a discounted rate of £15 when booking 2 or more sessions in this series. Please book in store or email

About Izabela
My name is Izabela, and I’m a crochet artist, maker and teacher with a passion for slow, mindful creativity. I specialise in delicate, lace-inspired designs using silk, cotton, and fine wire, often drawing inspiration from nature and vintage lace techniques.
I’m currently developing a book titled 100 Days Of Mindful Crochet – Challenge Yourself to Crochet a Few Stitches Every Day, a guided journey that blends beginner-friendly stitch tutorials with daily reflections on creativity, calm and the joy of making.
Through my Mindful Crochet workshops, I create welcoming, beginner-friendly spaces where people can learn the basics of crochet at a gentle pace. My teaching is accessible, patient, and focused on building confidence and enjoyment through creative practice. I provide all materials and can tailor the session to your group’s needs — including accessibility, age, and learning style.
I have also been a Cooper since the original shop opened and am the co-manager of the Maidenhead shop!
