Join us for a spine-chilling evening of live storytelling, inspired by real Cumbrian legends and historic horrors. This immersive experience unfolds across several locations in and around The Swan, from candlelit rooms to riverside paths and shadowy woodland. 🕯️
Featuring Four Atmospheric Tales:
✨ The Hand of Glory – A dark tale of witchcraft, black magic, and local legend
✨ Devil’s Gallop – A murderous highwayman and a haunted stretch of road
✨ The Crier of Claife – A stormy night, a haunted ferry, and a boatman’s madness
✨ The Screaming Skulls of Calgarth – one of the oldest Cumbrian ghost stories, one which involves greed, treachery and an old curse
Expect flickering candlelight, haunting music, and audience participation as you journey through one and a half hours of macabre storytelling. We’re also including a spooky cocktail or a hot drink for each guest – mulled wine for the grown ups and a hot chocolate for the kids.
We will also have post-show drinks available at the bar. 🍸
Wrap up warm and wear sensible shoes – some of these tales will be told outdoors!
