Leeds Center for the Arts is proud to announce its upcoming production of It’s a Wonderful Life, adapted for the stage by James Rodgers and directed by Austin Vahle. The heartwarming holiday favorite will run December 5–7 and 11–14 at the historic Leeds theater in downtown Winchester.
Based on the beloved 1946 film, It’s a Wonderful Life follows the story of George Bailey, a man who has given up his dreams to help others, only to find himself contemplating what the world would be like if he had never been born. This timeless tale of love, sacrifice, and the importance of community is brought to life in Rodgers’ faithful stage adaptation with a touching blend of humor, drama, and holiday spirit.
Thursday, December 11th’s performance will be a pay-what-you-will night. All proceeds from that show will go towards the actors.
In addition to the show, during the run of It’s a Wonderful Life, Leeds Center for the Arts will also host its annual Silent Art Auction, featuring 2-dimensional works from talented Central Kentucky artists. Guests are invited to browse and bid on original artwork before and after performances, supporting both local artists and the Leeds’ ongoing arts programs.
