Templecombe to Sherborne point-to-point walk (7 miles / 3 hours - moderate)

A first point to point walk for us (as far as I'm aware!) and fairly long at 11.2km (7 miles) and taking just under 3 hours. We'll meet at the Templecombe station car park (BA8 0JJ) ready to set off for 10:30am. For anyone who arrives early, Bunter's cafe opposite the Co op is open from 9am.

It's a bit of a mixed route, along quiet country lanes and through a few fields with some nice views on the way, passing through the lovely villages of Milborne Wick and Oborne, finishing off on a nice quiet path on to Sherborne. The route does aim for the train station at Sherborne, but I think a better end point is The Digby Tap for a well deserved pint!

There are trains back from Sherborne to Templecombe roughly every hour (with one at 2:19pm and another at 3:04pm), costing a grand total of £4.40). We could also try to arrange some clever parking arrangements!

Note: As roughly 1/3 (maybe a little more) of the route is along narrow country lanes, this walk may not be ideal for dogs (although traffic is very minimal).
