Beginning in the late 1800s, the Chautauqua movement brought adult education, culture, arts, community discussion, and sometimes religion to small towns across rural America. Teddy Roosevelt once referred to these popular gatherings as "typical of America at its best."
We agree! So, in honor of the American grassroots movement that brought communities together for learning and civic renewal, the Community Foundation of Pulaski County invites local nonprofit leaders, volunteers, and supporters to a modern-day chautauqua.
The Pulaski County Chautauqua (it's pronounced sha-taw-kwah, by the way) will bring together nonprofit staff, volunteers, community and faith leaders, and public servants in Pulaski County. We'll discuss the results of the Nonprofit Snapshot Survey and explore “strategic doing,” a framework for collaboration meant to amplify the impact of your great work in our community.
Your crucial insights will guide how the Community Foundation can best support, advocate for, and invest in YOU, our nonprofit community.
Oh, and did we mention that participating nonprofits that register in advance and are in good standing with the CFoPC and IRS are eligible for one of two $500 mini-grants!
